The first major update after the initial Game Jam version, v0.4.1 focuses both on internal project refactoring as well as changes and quality-of-life improvements visible from the outside.
Change log:
- refactoring of most project prefabs and related scripts, most notably the Player object
- introduction of EnvironmentObserver and StateObserver objects
- key bindings remapped and stored centrally
- look up and down functionality (LeftShift + W and LeftShift + S)
- standing sprite animator v2
- forward, diagonal and upward aiming while standing and running
- joined separate images into sprite sheets for some sprites
- various tweaks (such as delayed ground check) for smoother animation
- camera height set to 11 tiles (as in Super Metroid)
- VfxController and shader-based outline effect introduced
- full screen map zoom now utilises three discrete levels instead of continuous, float-based functionality
- debug analytics added to the build
